three of my four kids have celebrated in the past few months. on that day, we try to make it special.
a fun dinner.
we want them to know that we love them, that they are worth celebrating, that they are special to us.
our Compassion child is celebrating his birthday in a few weeks. and we hope to make his day special as well.
we’ll write him a birthday message.
we’ll send a little extra so he can receive a special gift.
and we’ll let him know that he is special to us.
and special to God.
you can make a difference in the life of a child. If you’re not already, visit the Compassion site and sponsor a child today. You won’t regret it.
Earlier in the fall we sent in a little extra to provide a Christmas present for our Compassion child, Collins. It wasn’t a huge amount but the bit we sent in will be used to purchase gifts for him and the others in his village to receive some gifts this Christmas.
Maybe you’d like to do a little something extra this Christmas. The Gifts of Compassion Catalog is a way to do that.
No crowds, no lines, no stress – just a gift that will help make a difference in the life of a child living in one of the poorest communities of the world. These gifts help provide clean drinking water, medical treatment, disaster relief, food supplies and much, much more for Compassion-assisted children and their families. Meet real needs and bring real joy with a Gift of Compassion.
Gifts include mosquito nets, soccer balls, chickens, goats, water filters, farm equipment, clean water and more. Gift prices range from $10 to $5000.
We pray for Collins regularly that God will bless him and his family…and that this Christmas, he will know that a family on the other side of the world cares for him.
Our little sacrifice makes all the difference in his world.
Merry Christmas Collins!
We received our first letter from our Compassion child in the mail yesterday.
What a sweet letter from this six year old boy from Kenya. He shared with us what he learned recently at church…that he loves math at school…and asked us to pray for his upcoming school exams.
It reminded me how important our sponsorship is to his well-being. We are helping to bring hope into the life of Collins and his family.
I’m proud that our church is taking part in Compassion Sunday this coming weekend. At all of our services, sponsorship packets will be available…people will be able to take a packet and sponsor a child on the spot.
If you don’t already sponsor a child…consider it. You can make a difference in the life of a child living in poverty.
Tonight our family sponsored our first child through Compassion International.
Let me introduce you to Collins.
He’s 6 years old.
He lives with his mom and dad.
And with 6 brothers and sisters.
And he lives in Kenya.
I am really excited for our family to share in the life of this sweet boy. And for our kids to pray for him…and to write to him…and to learn how someone on the other side of the globe will be impacted because of their prayers, words and support.
I’ve been following Shaun Groves and the Compassion team through all the relief efforts for Haiti. And this benefit concert is just another way to help support Compassion’s great cause as they continue their work in Haiti after this tragic event.
February 27th, two venues, streaming live on the web. Make a difference in the lives of the survivors. Your donation will lay bricks, feed, educate, clothe, heal and rebuild Haiti in Jesus’ name for many months to come. Please give.
