Aubrey graduated today

Aubrey\'s graduatioin

My sweet Aubrey graduated today from Building Blocks Preschool. They did quite a job with the graduation program. It was a “Happy Trails to You” theme complete with cowboy hats and boots. Aubrey’s class sang “Choo Choo Ch’boogie,” and Aubrey had quite the choreography moves! But not as much as one of the girls from another class – she had quite the hip action to “Achy Breaky Heart!”

It was fun to watch Aubrey with the friends from her class that she has been with for the past two years. And it was a little weird to see her name listed in the program with her school for next year listed as “Rochester Elementary, Rochester, IL” as all her classmates are going to the local schools around us.

I’m proud of Aubrey. She is a sweet little girl…who looks just like her mom! I took her out to celebrate at McDonald’s – although it took quite the convincing. I think she just wanted to come home and have some mac-n-cheese with some Sponge Bob.

Selling our house

I know that three weeks isn’t long to have your house on the market, especially in this housing market…but we sure are getting anxious about all of this. We have had lots of lookers…just no offers yet. We have another showing tonight and then an open house scheduled for Sunday. So our biggest prayer right now is for God to sell the house…it sure would make our lives less stressful because it’s awfully hard to keep it clean and straightened with four kids!!! (I’m almost positive I just picked up this toy of Ethan’s…how did it get out here in the hallway again?!)

So if you’d like to say a quick prayer for our house to sell, we would be very appreciative. And if you’d like to purchase a beautiful, 3 bedroom ranch home, with a recently remodeled kitchen and bathroom, located in a lovely neighborhood in Lowell, MA, give my realtor a call! We’ll make you a deal.

Moment of truth

Went to the gym yesterday and weighed. 186…that’s more than this short man wants to weigh! So now it’s exercise and salads.
Is the cheese dip from La Carretta low fat?!!

Whiteboard Sessions

I said I would mention more about the Whiteboard Sessions. It was simply a one-day, 8 main speaker event…each getting 30 minutes to share something they are passionate about with a room full of ministry leaders. Mark Batterson, Vince Antonucci, John Burke, Darrin Patrick, Tim Stevens, Mark Dever, Perry Noble and Ed Stetzer…8 dynamic leaders in one setting. It was a great event that was put together by a church planting dude named Ben Arment.

For me, what I came away with first and foremost was that God has called and gifted me for this world of ministry…and with that, I need to remember my calling, dream big and move forward with the task at hand. It was an inspiring, energizing and challenging day…one that I’m glad I was able to experience.

In the course of the day, I was also able to meet to blogging pastors that I have read (ie, stalked) for quite a while: Carlos Whitaker and Scott Hodge. Truth be told, I’ve started blogging because Carlos asked me if I blog and I had to say “no, I just read them!”

Memorial Day

It was a beautiful day in New England…one of those “Man, I’m glad we live here” days. We’ve got to enjoy those while we can over the next month!

We didn’t do much. I mowed the lawn, the kids played outside. Then Lynda took the kids to the sprinkler park so I could work on some homework for this killer class. Tonight, she’s working (holiday pay!) and I’m playing on blog getting it set up how I want it. Now I just need to get some readers!!!

It’s time to work off the weight

Well…it’s official. I’m fat! And so I’m joining Ragamuffin Soul in his RagamuffinTop Challenge to work off the weight. We’ll see how I do. I’ll weigh in tomorrow at the gym and let you know the results.

Almost ready to throw in the towel

My marketing class this term is just about ready to kill me. It is the most difficult class so far…and putting this on top of my family, transitioning my role from Harbor, getting ready to move across the country and just everyday life is causing me one big giant stress ball!

Only 3 weeks left…and one HUGE project to finish. Thankfully I have a wife who is pushing me forward and a good friend who is going to help make sure I have some time later this week to get ahead.

Just remember…I think I can, I think I can…

An amazing day at WiBo

This right here is the reason I am beginning this blog. My day at the Whiteboard Sessions was amazing. Great stuff shared by some amazing guys. Perry Noble really challenged me the most. That’s his talk above…illustrated so well. Makes me remember his big idea: What has God called you to be and what has God called you to do?

I’ll share some more about WiBo in the next couple of days…

Until then…this is the place for all my ramblings and thoughts as I transition into a new role in a new place. Enjoy the ride.
